Gateway Pharmacy is now offering a unique solution for chronic sinus congestion, runny nose, watery eyes and sinus inflammation.

Intranasal corticosteroids such as Nasacort, Flonase, and Rhinocort are first-line options for treating these symptoms, but are sometimes not enough.

Budesonide, the medication found in Rhinocort, can be delivered via a saline nasal rinse allowing more of the medication to reach the sinus cavities. Additional medications can added to provide further relief from symptoms.

Saline nasal rinses help to reduce postnasal drip and to wash away secretions, allergens, and irritants from the sinus cavities.

If you have been using steroid nasal sprays and are not noticing adequate improvement in symptoms, let us work with you and your provider to find a prescription option that is best for you.

Additional Helpful Tips

  • Always add the salt packet to the distilled water in addition to the medication to prevent irritation.
  • If you prefer, the saline can be warmed in the microwave before adding medication. Warm for a few seconds at a time to a lukewarm temperature.
  • If experiencing pressure in the ears, try squeezing the bottle with less force and make the “KUH” sound while rinsing to stop fluid from traveling into the eustachian tubes.
